Welcome to the Community House Big Bang 2025!

~ an Age 16+ Fandom Event centered around one or more members of the Dream Team! What is a Big Bang?
A Big Bang is a collaborative fandom event in which writers and artists work together to create new fanworks centered around a theme.
A writer comes up with a fic concept and writes the fanfiction. They get paired with an artist who then creates artwork for that fic. Both the writer and the artist work together to make their respective pieces for the event!
On a set date, the fics and the artworks are posted simultaneously, thus creating a “big bang” of fandom content!
End result: A high-quality fanfiction paired with an illustration! The goal is to make new friends, collaborate, have fun, and celebrate new fanworks in our community!

How It Works

1. Event Roles

Writers:

  • Will create a fanfiction of a minimum of 20k words. No word limit.

  • Will have full autonomy of their work and writing within the set Guidelines of the event.

  • Writers may give feedback and support on their paired artist’s artwork, but will not have control over what is depicted within the artpiece.

As a writer, you will complete the Google form for sign-ups beginning February 1st, 2025 and ending February 15th, 2025. You will receive a confirmation email from our team and may begin writing! You will complete a second Google form by March 1st, 2025 detailing your fic, including a fic summary, and an optional short snippet (within 300 words) for the pairing process.Afterwards, this information will be compiled into an anonymous list for the artists to view and the pairing process will proceed.

Artists:

  • Will create a fully-rendered artwork to accompany their partner’s fanfiction.

  • Artwork must be SFW. No NSFW art is allowed, however, suggestive art is fine. For more information, please see Guidelines.

  • Will have full autonomy over their work and drawing within the set Guidelines of the event.

  • Artists may give feedback and support on their paired writer’s fic, but will not have control over what is depicted within the fic.

As an artist, you will complete the Google form for sign-ups beginning February 1st, 2025 and ending February 15th, 2025 as well. You will receive a confirmation email from our team. You will receive and view an anonymous list of fic prompts. Then you will have a few days until March 7th to complete a Google form listing your top five picks.

Beta Readers:

  • This is an unassigned role, meaning you will not be paired with an artist or a writer.

  • If a writer reaches out to you, your task will be to help edit and assist them with their fic.

  • Beta Readers have the right to decline any request they are not comfortable with!

If you’re signing up to be a beta reader, you will be filling out the same Google form in Sign-Ups.
You will be contacted at a later date detailing your strengths, preferences, and interests, which will then be compiled into a listed resource for Writers to freely contact you!
We value the effort and services you offer in beta-ing for this event a lot!!

Pinch Hitters:

  • Will be expected to write or render an art piece (guidelines may be eased) in a “pinch” should a participant drop out!

  • There are two separate types of pinch hitters: writers or artists (please specify on form).

Pinch Hitters are our superstars that step in when we need them the most! Whether you're an artist or a writer, you'll be our hero that steps in if someone drops out!Example: An artist drops out, then you will be called on and paired with the writer to render an artpiece for that fic. This role is to ensure that everyone gets a fanfic or an artpiece together! Usually, guidelines are eased due to time constraints. Please note that if you're already participating in this event , you can apply to be a pinch hitter if you think you can handle the potential workload! :)

2. Pairing Process

  • Artists will receive an anonymous list including the writers' fic concepts and choose their top 5.

  • Your answers on the Google form are crucial to the pairing process.

  • Pairings will then be announced via email detailing their partner's contact information and socials.

  • :) You may now work together in bringing your fanworks to life!

3. Writer / Artist Check-Ins

  • Everyone will do a quick check-in via Google forms as a pair to make sure you're on track!

  • Only one form per pair needed (either you or your partner can turn it in!)

  • Pinch Hitters will be contacted and paired ASAP if anyone drops out for any reason!

4. Posting in our AO3 Collection

  • Every artist/writer pair must be finished with their fanworks by June 12th.

  • AO3 Collection opens on June 15th, 2025.

  • After the pairing process, you and your partner will choose a date and timeslot to post your work! This is to make sure every piece gets their time to shine!

Please see Guidelines and Rules for more information.
